Have used the kit a few times, seems to be holding up well. Recomended extra items are:
- A better quality ale (e.g. St peters) not sure why you would want to make american beer which is included
-- sealed aquarium heater, and digital thermometer so you can maintain steady temperature. Typically airing cupboards are too hot and you will annoy your wife by needing to leave the door open! Drop a heater and themometer in, wrap it in a sleeping bag and you can put it out of the way (e.g. the garage) where it is colder but you can still maintain the required 18-22 deg C.
