Quality Underlay
As part of the process of soundproofing my flat, I chose this particular "acoustic underlay" due to its impressive 48db (impact) sound reduction rating. It arrived quickly, and from the weight alone you can tell this is a quality product.
I should mention you will need a very sharp Stanley knife, or even special scissors to cut this underlay due to its 12mm thickness, and the type of materials used in its production. However, once it's down, you can immediately feel the quality underfoot. It feels very luxurious.
I cannot comment on its "soundproofing" effect as it's too soon to say, but I will update this review once I'm finished.
As it's rated for "impact" sound reduction, it will probably benefit the neighbours below more than myself, but I'm sure it will also have a slight dampening effect on sound from below as well. If you're simply looking for a quality underlay that feels fantastic to walk on, I would recommend this...
