The Antique Brass finish gives a quality look to this lamp. Construction is good and assembly was fine, but not something that one should rush. The lamp has a bright feel and light is projected upwards through the top of the dome by way of a clear, but obscure, glass lens (which I had not expected). The switch is positioned in a convenient place towards the top of the main stem and is an old fashioned toggle style which seems robust to use. Weight is sufficient to offer good stability on carpet but I would anticipate that anyone could move it with relative ease. The overall finish is a laquered clear gloss which looks good. Height is good for sitting in an armchair and reading.
